Functional Testing

Functional Diagnostic Testing is a helpful tool that can be used when you want to be pro-active in identifying problems before  chronic  conditions and diseases develop and/or in the pinpointing of specific underlying biological problems where health issues are causing concern.  The main laboratories used by this practice are Genova Diagnostics Europe, Cambridge Nutritional Sciences through their Irish distributor Fitzwilliam FoodTEST and BTS Ireland.  These laboratories provide a large array of tests that registered practitioners can offer on to their clients.  These diagnostic tests can provide great insight and valuable information on the person centered approach to treatment.  It is usually in the course of treatment that a particular test maybe advised except in the case of Food Intolerance Testing as clients often specifically seek this test as they suspect particular foods are causing their health issues.  However, it is still important that you are a client as treatment to heal the gut wall is as important as excluding foods and knowing what substitute foods are suitable for you.

Food Intolerance Testing

Laboratory based food intolerance testing uses a small sample of blood to check for IgG antibody levels to specific foods.  If you only suspect food intolerance's then you can do an 'Indicator Test' first which will give a positive or negative result.  Then there are 3 different tests to choose from : 60 Foods, 93 Foods and 200 Foods.
